Simi Winery Description
Ruby with a bright edge. On the nose, big, smokey and a little char, with sage, pine needles and violets leading the way to raspberry and tart cherry interlaced with savory notes of gingerbread and salted caramel, and subtle notes of mineral, with a hint of chocolate. A fine and seamless combinations of bright fruit and earthy notes; intriguing, lovely and welcoming. Flavors of rich black cherry and red plum are framed with hints of sweet toasted oak, smoke, and followed by hints of gingerbread and earthy notes of sage and fir. There's a light peppery spice gives more dark character and enhances the structured and balanced acidity. The mouth feel is fleshy and concentrated, finishing with lingering red cherry and notes of smoky bacon. The tannins are firm ripe and present giving longevity to the wine. - winery
